Book 2 in The Beiler Sisters series
Jerry Eicher is never a disappointment! I am so crazy involved in the life of these characters that I’m scared to read the last book because I really do not want to say goodbye to them. I know I say this every time I review a book by this author but…I was so, so, scared of a male writing about female characters. So many times a male’s perspective on a female’s thoughts and mannerisms are slightly lacking. This author writes female characters without making all of the cheesy goofups that other male authors make.
I appreciate the spiritual applications that this author also includes in his stories. So many seem to glaze over spirituality in Christian books where Mr. Eicher always puts emphasis on the importance of Christ in our daily lives. If you’re looking for strong spiritual content and a great story—this is a fantastic series. I really can’t recommend this author enough.
When you’re done reading fiction; My Amish Childhood: A True Story of Faith, Family, and the Simple Life,” is the true story of this author’s childhood. His Amish background is one big reason I think that he writes Amish fiction that has such an authentic feel to it. If you haven’t checked out this author or this series—you should! Mr. Eicher is one of the best authors of Amish fiction on the market!
