Genres: Love & Romance, Young Adult
Source: the author
Suggested Age: 13+
Note: Teen safe, light romance. There's a few references to kissing as well as torture methods of prisoners but nothing graphic. This is wholesome Christian fiction for young ladies that sends a positive and healthy message about love and marriage.
Due to her parents' promise at her birth, Lady Rosemarie has been prepared to become a nun on the day she turns eighteen. Then, shortly before her birthday, a friend of her father's enters the kingdom and proclaims her parents' will left a second choice—if Rosemarie can marry before the eve of her eighteenth year, she will be exempt from the ancient vow.
Before long, Rosemarie is presented with the three most handsome and brave knights in the land. But when the knights' arrival results in a series of attacks within her land, she begins to wonder if the convent is the best place after all. If only one of the knights—the one who appears the most guilty—had not already captured her heart.
Goodness! This book is so good! I was totally blindsided by a twist in the story kind of good. Want to know how often that happens to me? Not very often. I’m one of those weird readers that can usually see a plot twist from page one if a plot twist exists. So, having said that, this is one of the best YA books that I’ve read in a while. This book read fast (a good thing) and I connected with the characters. I honestly liked all of Rosemarie’s love interests and that rarely ever happens for me in a story. Overall, this is a great book for you and your young adults to read and enjoy together!
I really enjoyed watching the main characters grow throughout the story. I loved the plot twist, even though I saw it coming…unlike my mom! I liked the romance and that it was age appropriate. I wouldn’t be embarrassed to share this with my church friends. I loved all of the characters, even the bad guy. This is a great story and I hope that the author continues the series.
